Yes. Custom Cakes By Stacey is a legally licensed and insured home-based cake business, holding required state/local business and retail permits.   

SCDHEC was restructured, as of July 1, 2024. The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) is now in charge of all restaurant inspections, dairy safety, and food safety. Custom Cakes By Stacey proudly operate under the South Carolina Home-Based Food Production law which is regulated by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture. Our HBFP Identification number is  38-202-00579.

Yes. However, our cake tastings are exclusively for wedding cakes.

There is a small fee to secure your visit on our calendar. If you choose to move forward with our services, it will be applied to your order. When you schedule your visit, you will be sent an invoice for the consultation and tasting fee of  $40 per couple. Once we have received payment your appointment will be confirmed.  The cake tasting fee is non-refundable should you decide not to retain our services.

Please keep in mind that cake samples are prepared specifically for you. We ask for the courtesy of 48 hours’ notice if your appointment needs to be rescheduled. Cancellations without the appropriate notice will be subject to an additional fee in order to rebook the appointment.

It is helpful to have color(s) and floral decisions prior to our meeting so we have that information available when designing your cake.​ The design process is definitely a collaborative effort, and we’ll keep exploring options until you have a design you love.

We do not have a general price list because each cake is one-of-a-kind. Ultimately the price is based on the complexity of design and the number of people being served. It is helpful to have a budget in mind for what you would like to spend on your cake. This will give us a better sense of what we can design for you.

Please note the minimum amount on all cake orders is $185.

Our delivery areas are Orangeburg, Branchville, Bamberg, Denmark, North, Cordova, St. Matthews, Cope, Santee, and Holly Hill.  Please contact us to inquire about any other specific location. 

Delivery and set up fees are additional and are calculated at an hourly rate of $25 round trip.​ There is no fee to deliver in Orangeburg.  

For 3 tiers or more and for intricately designed custom cakes, we must insist on delivering. Our cakes are delicate and require specific temperature control, timed deliveries and transportation.

Yes. We require a 50% retainer fee to reserve your wedding date on our calendar. 

We will base your retainer fee on the total estimated amount at the time you place your order.   We ask that you be absolutely certain that you would like to work with us, as all retainers are date specific and non-refundable.

Custom Cakes By Stacey is a small cake business that take a limited amount of clients each week. We recommend getting in touch for wedding cakes at least 2 to 4 months prior to the date, and special event cakes 1 month prior to the date.​ However, we will definitely attempt to accommodate last-minute requests, if our schedule allows.  Please call us at (803) 682-8766 or email us at customcakesbystacey@gmail.com to find out our availability for your particular date.
